Sve je rečeno, govori pjesnik
gledajući u bjelinu papira
čemu pisati, tomovi knjiga
raspleli su ljudsku povijest
obične riječi postale su fraze
iza velikih stavljene su točke
iscrpljene su sve forme
iskušani svi oblici
nema tajne
pa ipak
pjesnikovo oko strši
usna drhti
dok poslušna ruka
pokorno slijedi
otkucaje
neiscrpnog
ljudskog srca

Everything’s been said, the poet says
looking at the whiteness of the paper
why writing, volumes of books
have unravelled the human history
ordinary words became the phrases
behind the big ones were put the full stops
all forms exhausted
all shapes tested
there is no secret
but still
the poet’s eye protrudes
the lip shivers
while the obedient hand
submissively follows
the ticking of
the inexhaustible
human heart
The letter about poets
Everything’s been said, the poet says
looking at the whiteness of the paper
why writing, volumes of books
have unravelled the human history
ordinary words became the phrases
behind the big ones were put the full stops
all forms exhausted
all shapes tested
there is no secret
but still
the poet’s eye protrudes
the lip shivers
while the obedient hand
submissively follows
the ticking of
the inexhaustible
human heart
